Since 1972, Tarzana Treatment Centers has provided high-quality, affordable treatment services to adults and youth with alcohol and drug abuse and behavioral health problems. We offer the full range of comprehensive behavioral health services utilizing a staff of caring professionals who are experts in the field. All facilities are licensed and certified by the State of California and the County of Los Angeles.
We are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health

We accept private health insurance and are a preferred provider for most managed care companies, medical groups, behavioral healthcare groups, HMO’s and PPO’s.
Tarzana Treatment Centers offers free confidential, clinical assessments. We are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for clinical assessment or immediate admission.

Mental Health Treatment
Psychiatric services are integrated into our various programs to address the needs of patients with substance abuse and other co-occurring disorders. Services include:

Medical Detoxification
Our inpatient setting is designed to safely and rapidly detoxify the patient in a positive setting. Our patients are guided by a highly trained staff that access and treat the medical and emotional needs of each patient. Detoxification includes:

- Discharge planning

Residential Rehabilitation
Residential alcohol and drug treatment is a therapeutic environment designed to help patients develop a drug-free and sober lifestyle. Our aim is to stabilize patients and return them to communities with all the necessary skills to fully function and thrive without the use of mood-altering substances. The Residential Rehabilitation treatment consists of:
- Individual counseling
- Group therapy
- Relapse prevention
- Educational lectures
- Family involvement
- Introduction to and participation in the 12-Step fellowship
- Recreation
- Creative expression
- Aftercare
- Treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders
Day Treatment/Partial Hospitalization
The Partial Hospitalization program is designed for patients who require more than outpatient but less than inpatient care. Patients participate in a comprehensive, customized treatment program, up to seven days a week and up to eight hours a day.

- Relapse prevention
Outpatient Alcohol and Drug Treatment Services
Outpatient services offer structured treatment programs for adults and youth with substance abuse as well as other co-occurring psychological problems. Outpatient alcohol and drug treatment includes:
- Individual, couple, family and group therapy
- Educational recovery and relapse prevention groups
- Introduction to 12-Step meetings
- Access to community resources
- Treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders
- Domestic violence services for men and women
Supportive and Transitional Housing
Sober Living and Transitional Housing provides continued support and recovery-oriented services to patients who:
- Have successfully completed alcohol or drug treatment
- May benefit from the support of living with others in recovery
- Are ready to transition to independent community living
Family Services
Family Services are incorporated into our various programs.
These services include educational and process groups, as well as individual family therapy, when indicated
Family Medical Care Services
Our family medical care clinics serve residents in the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys, and our behavioral healthcare patients. Family Medical Care services include:
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute, episodic and chronic illnesses
- Health promotion
- Disease prevention and maintenance
- Patient education
- HIV treatment and education
Youth Services
The Youth Services Program is tailored to the unique behavioral, family and academic problems youth experience with substance abuse. Services include:
- Individual and group counseling
- Family involvement
- Accredited, on-site schools
- Social and recreational programs
- Youth-oriented 12-Step meetings and activities
- Adolescent alcohol and drug treatment and co-occurring mental health disorders
HIV Services
Tarzana Treatment Centers HIV Services provides affected patients with vital health education and treatment strategies for an improved and extended quality of life. Our project activities address treatment, attitude and the behavior surrounding HIV/AIDS, which profoundly impact substance users and recovering abusers, as well as the needs of the community at large.
Specialized Services for Women, and Women and Their Children
The philosophy and structure of this program is similar to our Residential Rehabilitation program and is designed specifically for women, women and their children, and families. Experienced staff works with pregnant and postpartum women and their children. Special services include:
- On-site therapeutic nursery
- Parenting education
- Family counseling
- HIV/AIDS education
- Mother/child case management
Tarzana Treatment Centers is a Los Angeles County and State of California Contract Agency. We are partially funded by the Drug Program Plan of the County of Los Angeles.
