Medical Care

In support of local communities, the Medical Care facilities at Tarzana Treatment Centers offer a range of medical services, from treatment of acute illnesses to pediatric care. Medical care is also provided in alcohol and drug treatment programs for detoxification and residential patients. Tarzana also has a specific HIV care clinic.

Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. provides primary care services at its Tarzana and Lancaster locations. Tarzana Treatment Centers has been provides services to indigent, publicly funded and private sector populations. Primary Medical Care Services were added in response to strong community needs.

Primary Care Services, using a biopsychosocial approach:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses
  • Health promotion
  • Disease prevention
  • Health maintenance
  • Childhood immunization program
  • Counseling
  • Patient education

Medical and ancillary services, such as laboratory, radiology, pathology/cytology, specialty care, emergency care and pharmacy services, are provided through service agreements with local healthcare providers.

Multi-Specialty Medical Team, led by licensed, board-certified internists:

  • Board-certified Family Practitioners
  • Pediatricians
  • Physician Assistants
  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Certified Medical Personnel

Strong customer service staff provides non-clinical assistance to patients at Tarzana Treatment Centers. At each location, nurse case managers coordinate medical services and assist patients in obtaining social services as needed.

Management Team

Weekly family education groups are held to educate and involve family members in treatment. Families learn about:

  • Primary Care Physicians
    –Supervises, coordinates and provides continuous, medically-indicated care
    –Initiates referrals for specialty care
    –Responsible for continuity of care
  • Medical Director
    –Oversees care provided by medical staff
    –Supervises case management and Quality Improvement processes
  • Report & Analysis Capability
    –Comprehensive practice management software package serves as management information system
    –Contains functionality of patient management
    –Produces comprehensive reports
    –Performs analysis to aid in assessing level of care for each patient
